We may be wrong, but it seems like Warrior Nun is the first ever Netflix show that was saved by the fans after getting axed by the platform. Anyway, it’s great news!

Much like other platforms and cable channels, Netflix makes the weirdest decisions from time to time — and especially, when it comes to canceling its own show. Warrior Nun is just one of the brightest examples since there was next to no reason to ax it.

Warrior Nun was released back in 2020 with the second season following in 2022, and it was the best Netflix show ever in terms of its Rotten Tomatoes ratings: its critic score stood on a solid 100%, and the audience score was nothing short of 99%. No other series on the platform has ever gotten such overwhelming praise.

Still, at the end of 2022, Netflix announced that Warrior Nun was canceled. The decision came as a massive surprise since the reviews were amazing and the Halobearers community was going crazy for the series.

This was an unexpected and sad turn of events… But the fans were very much not ready to just settle with it.

After the announcement of the show’s cancelation in December, Simon Barry, the creator of Warrior Nun, wrote on his Twitter that it was “a privilege to be a part of this” and thanked the fans, the cast, and the production team, saying his goodbyes. He didn’t go far, though: the Halobearers immediately dragged him back into action.

The fans were mad at Netflix and wanted the series saved, so Barry promised them that he’d try to find a new home for Warrior Nun. Ever since then, he’s been searching for a new network to work with, and now, the creator posted an update.

“Today, I’m happy to officially report that because of your combined voices, passion, and amazing efforts, Warrior Nun will return and is going to be more EPIC than you could imagine. More details to come! SOON! Thank you!” Wrote Barry on his Twitter.

Halobearers are going nuts: the comment section under the creator’s post is a place of wicked celebration now as the fans are congratulating Barry and each other on their favorite show being saved from the ruthless ax of Netflix.

We are yet to learn which network the show is moving to (if at all), but one thing is clear: this fandom is insanely powerful and persistent as we’re pretty sure Warrior Nun is the first ever Netflix show to have been rescued by the fans after cancelation.
