First Look At Fallout TV Series Has Fans Believing It Will Be A (Nuclear) Blast

The upcoming Fallout TV series, based on the video game franchise of the same name, was announced back in 2020, and fans have been eagerly picking up every scrap of information about it ever since.

It was known that it would not follow the events of the games, but would instead tell an entirely unique story set in the post-nuclear world of Fallout.

Now, almost three years later, the first teaser for the series was finally shown at Gamescom 2023, and although it was quite short, it was enough to get fans even more excited for the show.

It featured a Vertibird (a type of aircraft that has become a trademark of the video game series) flying over a wasteland, a group of Brotherhood of Steel paladins in their power armor, a door to one of the vaults, a ghoul character apparently portrayed by Walton Goggins, and ended with a spectacular nuclear explosion.

The initial fears of some fans that the series might look a bit cheap now seem to have been allayed, as the visuals appear to be quite impressive.

According to a newly released official poster, the show will take place in Los Angeles (or, more likely, its remains, now known as the Boneyard), which, curiously enough, was also featured in the franchise's very first game back in 1997.

Fans seem to be quite pleased with what they saw, as it exceeded their expectations and disproved fears that the developers would fail to recreate the signature visual style of the games.

They are also more than ready to see more of Walton Goggins' character, as many believe him to be an extremely underrated actor who shines in every project he takes part in.

Others point out that the situation with the Fallout TV series is very different from other video game adaptations like The Last of Us, as the creators only have to capture the style and atmosphere of the games, not the entire plot.

This could increase the show's chances of success, as at least the creators (hopefully) won't butcher the beloved stories and characters and create their own adventure.

The release date for the series hasn't been announced yet, but it's expected sometime in 2024.
