Fire Country Got a Major Problem It Needs to Fix in Season 2
Fans are hoping that the creators of Fire Country can pull the strings a little tighter with the writing.
Fresh out of the oven, Fire Country premiered in October 2022 and immediately became a hit with CBS audiences, attracting millions of viewers who quickly became fans. The first responder series follows a young convict who redeems himself by helping Cal Fire put out the massive fires that plague the Edgewater, CA region. And fans love to return to this wildly exciting and sometimes soapy story that airs every week.
According to TVLine, Fire Country Season 1 is expected to have a total of 22 episodes, with Episode 15 'False Promises' set to air on March 3, 2023. This means the creators can already get valuable feedback from viewers who have already seen most of the first season.
And according to social media, the feedback is generally positive, but there are a few things that fans would like to see improved in future episodes. First and foremost, fans feel that the show is kind of clunky.
"It's just not all there. I wish the storylines were drawn out more and not done in one episode," one of the fans commented on Reddit, starting a discussion.
Commenters in the discussion agreed that the show has much potential, but needs to tighten up the storylines a bit. So far, there have been a few predictable plot twists that could have been called out long before they happened, and a number of "cheesy" subplots that fans feel need to go in order for the show to live up to its amazing concept.
Also, fans hate the love triangle between the main character Bode Donovan, his love interest Gabriella Perez, and Cara, Bode's ex-girlfriend. The main problem fans have with the romantic storyline is the total lack of chemistry between Bode and Gabby.
"Bode has had one scene with the girl who is playing his ex, yet they had more fire together than he ever had with Gabby," a fan commented.
All in all, assuming all these issues are resolved, fans can look forward to the rest of the season, as well as Season 2, which was announced last month. CBS has not yet set a premiere date for the next season, but it's expected to air in the fall of 2023. Get ready for another round of riveting rescues!
