Lennie James, the actor who portrays Morgan, previously shared his aspirations for season 8 in an interview with SFX magazine. He pondered on what Morgan's purpose in life and death is in this final season.

This statement raised concerns among fans as he added that if Morgan succeeds in safeguarding his loved ones, he may face uncertainty about his future.

James expressed his desire for Morgan's story to conclude with a resolution to these queries.

So the words of the actor can be interpreted in different ways, but the fact that he mentions death tempts people to speculate that Morgan might die in the final season.
