Holding on to the past is not always good.

The Fast & Furious franchise is arguably one of the most famous action sagas that Hollywood can offer to the genre fans.

Well, the cast was brilliant from the first ever movie that saw the light. Not even the worst plot holes could keep fans from falling in love with the actors and the action.

The best characters of the franchise were always considered to be Dominic Toretto, portrayed by Vin Diesel and Brian O'Conner played by Paul Walker.

It was impossible to imagine Fast & Furious without any of them. But unfortunately, 10 years ago he tragically died in a car accident.

That happened while the production of Furious 7 was on a hiatus because of Thanksgiving break. So the film's finishing was actually in big danger.

Still, the creators of the movie somehow managed to use Walker's image with the magic of CGI to finish the filming process.

They actually created a very sweet scene of Dom and Brian driving peacefully in different directions. That scene actually gave the actor a proper farewell, leaving his character, Brian O'Conner, alive and happy. Just not with them anymore.

Frankly, the most loyal fans began to question the future of the franchise. Still, despite all the speculation, the producers continued to make new movies. But there's a catch.

In three more movies released after Walker's death, the writers still tried to make his character seem present. Which was actually a little creepy because of the approach they took.

The writers decided that the correct explanation for Brian's decision to get out was that he was afraid of the danger that might come to his family. So he moved to a safer place. And that seems like a good explanation, right?

Except that his name was in the movie a lot, but then quickly faded away with some new ridiculous explanation.

There was everything: the flashbacks, the unexpected appearances of Brian (without actually showing him, but making us believe it was really him through the emotions of the other characters), the rhetorical questions about his new life, etc.

Well, maybe the producers thought it was a nice way to honor the actor's memory. But the truth is that the fans really wanted them to stop using Walker's character and leave him alone.

Now, let's hope that the next movie in the franchise will finally focus on the current characters and the cast and producers will mourn Walker in their hearts, but not in ridiculous on-screen scenes.

Time to say goodbye.
