The last installment of The Hunger Games franchise came out in 2015. Now it is 2023, and it is time to summon our inner dystopia lovers back in a fit of nostalgia that The Hunger Games 5 has promised!

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is set to be released in November 2023, and the creators have just unveiled the poster.

While it follows the same theme as previous posters and book covers, the fans are not happy that it does not feature any of the main characters. Can't blame them really…

The movie itself is based on the book of the same name, written by Suzanne Collins as a prequel to Katniss' story.

The plot centers around a young Coriolanus Snow (the same guy who later becomes the cruel president of Panem) as he trains a tribute for the 10th Hunger Games.

The tribute, Lucy Gray Baird, has one thing in common with Katniss – she is also from District 12. Collins certainly has a favorite district and is not shy about it!

The book was released in 2020 and received generally positive reviews from critics and fans. Will the upcoming movie jumpstart a new era of teen dystopia (for millennial adults to enjoy, of course)?

We are not sure we are ready for it – just kidding, we have never stopped being ready!

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes will star Tom Blyth and Rachel Zegler in the main roles with Josh Rivera, Jason Schwartzman, Euphoria 's Hunter Schafer, and even Viola Davis joining the cast! Are you excited? We are!

Not everyone is, though (we never expected anything else). Some fans are worried about the movie's fate because Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Michael Arndt and Assassin's Creed's Michael Lesslie are the screenwriters.

Apparently, some people didn't like their vision for their respective movies much. Let's not jump to conclusions, though.

Others are a bit skeptical if the movie can live up to the franchise's reputation or if it ends up smearing it like the prequels usually do. When you think about it, there is some grain of truth to that.

However, many are just excited to see The Hunger Games come out of the shadows again and are even suggesting which prequel they would like to see next.

So far, fans want the one that features the Hunger Games that Haymitch Abernathy, Katniss' and Peeta's mentor, participated in.

Imagine if we got to see all the horrible things he had to go through to become who he is…

Let's wait till November and see if all our hopes and dreams for the movie come true (spoiler alert: probably not). Are there any tickets available for pre-order yet? We volunteer as tributes to buy them out!
