Fans Suggesting The Best Villain For Thor 5, And It's Getting Interesting
Is Hercules the only candidate for the next villain? Fans don't think so.
Thor 5 isn't going to be released anytime soon. However, fans are already anticipating who might be the next antagonist for the God of Thunder.
In the post credit scene of Thor: Love and Thunder, Zeus is highly disappointed in how people worship heroes more than gods, so he sends Hercules on a mission.
So, Hercules has the highest chance to be the antagonist for the next movie about Thor. However, it seems that Hercules is not enough for the fans.
One of the theories suggests that after Hercules is sent to kill Thor, they somehow might become friends. And Zeus, disappointed even more, sends his other son, Ares, to finish the job.
That is an intriguing idea, allowing Marvel to delve deeper into Greek mythology.
However, it is also possible that Hercules will be a villain for the first 10-15 minutes of the movie, while someone else assumes the role of the main antagonist. Let's break down the most popular suggestions.
First one is Enchantress. Amora, the Enchantress, is a deity featured in Marvel comics and is recognized as a recurring adversary of Thor.
One theory goes further, assuming that Sylvie from the Loki series may be some mixture of Loki and Enchantress.
So it's possible she (or her variant) may become Enchantress in the MCU. Fans would love to see Sophia Di Martino, who played Sylvie in Loki, in this role.
Another candidate is Mangog. Mangog embodies the collective anger of an entire race consisting of billions of beings who were annihilated by Odin.
If Mangog is to appear in the MCU, Marvel would need to tackle the issue of the origin and motives of the villain in a way that doesn't feel like the same old story.
Nevertheless, fans think that Mangog might be just the right character to cause trouble for Thor, who may need Hercules' help.
The fourth Thor movie was criticized for the lazy-written antagonist that even Christian Bale 's performance was hardly able to save.
Whichever character Marvel chooses for the next Thor villain, one thing is for sure — it has to be a unique and well-written character.
