Fans Say This Wrestler Actor Could Give The Rock A Run For His Money
We all know and love Dwayne Johnson, but he may soon be replaced as "The Most Beloved Wrestler Actor."
Wrestlers-turned-professional-actors are hardly a surprise these days, as more than a few have switched their careers from the ring to the big screen.
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is arguably the most famous example, as he was one of the first to make the switch and ended up becoming arguably the most likable wrestler-turned-actor.
But it seems that his status may soon go to another contender, as he is rapidly gaining more and more public approval.
John Cena recently addressed his 2012-2013 conflict with The Rock during his appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast.
Cena admitted that he "got selfish" and without any concept of growth or someone else's perspective, "took Dwayne's comments as not genuine."
Now, after following the same path and becoming a professional actor, he admitted his hypocrisy and changed his perspective on things.
"[...] I was diligent and I understand why he got upset," the actor said. He added that he and Johnson eventually came to an understanding and their friendship has been restored.
Fans seem genuinely impressed by this revelation and respect the actor for recognizing his mistake.
According to some, he is slowly becoming more relatable to the public than The Rock, whose entire brand prevents him from appearing humble.
They also say that Cena is far more talented as an actor than Johnson, showing a surprising amount of depth in his roles, while the latter is stuck in the "indestructible hero" stereotype, which may be dictated by the actor's own ego.
Others, however, point out that Dave Bautista, another wrestler-turned-actor, can give both of them a run for their money when it comes to role variety.
John Cena also holds a Guinness World Record for the most wishes granted through the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which is more than 650, among the actor's other charitable acts.
We're not here to make any kind of competition between two actors, so we'll just admit that John Cena looks like a decent human being.
The actor recently appeared in Fast X and will also star in the upcoming Barbie movie, which will be released on July 21, 2023.
