Twilight fans think Breaking Dawn needs to be rewritten and refilmed because of one disturbing storyline.

Being an unexpected global phenomenon, the Twilight Saga garnered millions of fans worldwide. The love and dedication of its enormous fandom led to the incredible success of both the book series and the movie franchise featuring a love story between a teenager and a vampire. Besides, the franchise was rediscovered recently by a new generation of fans who seem to enjoy it not less than long-term viewers. However, not all books and movies are equally well-received by both long-time and new fans. Some storylines would make the vampire saga much better if they were changed, fans believe.

In one of such discussions on Reddit, the majority of fans agreed it was Breaking Dawn that needed to be altered to make the whole franchise better. What particularly bothers many fans is the concept of imprinting.

"The wolves should not be imprinting on infants, because eeew," one of the fans wrote.

The commenter is talking about the questionable and creative conclusion to the famous Twilight love triangle. According to the plot of Breaking Dawn, minutes after Edward and Bella's daughter Renesmee is born, Jacob imprints on her which eventually leads to a lifelong romantic bond. This storyline was supposed to give satisfaction to Team Jacob but instead became a shock to both teams.

"It's horrible, on top of the general ickiness of the imprinting concept itself," a fan commented.

The imprinting may seem weird and nasty because an imprintee doesn't seem able to reject an imprinter without one of them dying, which feels like a very disturbing concept to many fans.

"Get rid of imprinting," one of the commenters wrote, clearly articulating the general sentiment of the discussion.

Even those who would let the imprinting stay in Breaking Dawn believe it should be altered, made less overbearing and more platonic. Both Jacob and Renesmee deserve to be able to fall in love on their own terms. If Renesmee grew up to be Jacob's close sister-type it would be less creepy, the commenters in the discussion agree.

"I wouldn't erase [the imprinting] from the book, but rather make it clear that it doesn't have to be romantic, but rather be like a bond between brother and sister," one of the Redditors explained.
