Prepare to greet Bridgerton season 4 in 2028.

It's safe to say that Bridgerton fandom is at its peak. After the success of season 2 and the even greater success of the series' prequel Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, there's no question whether or not to tune in for season 3. The question is when it will be available.

Despite much speculation, the official release date for an upcoming season is still being kept under wraps by both Netflix and Shondaland. However, the latest rumors have fans really worried that they may have to wait months until winter to see Colin and Penelope's love story come to life.

It's not like anyone's not willing to wait a little longer for the next season, especially considering they've got a whole new spinoff to check out in the meantime.

The thing that bugs Bridgerton viewers the most is the similarity to another Netflix flagship, Stranger Things, which is known for its notoriously long breaks between seasons.

While the second season of Stranger Things took about a year to produce and release, the same was true for Bridgerton. Then the pattern seemed to continue, with Stranger Things season 3 taking almost two years between seasons, and Bridgerton rumored to be doing exactly the same.

If the production continues to follow the pattern of Stranger Things, Bridgerton fans may have to wait almost four years for season 4, and no one is sure if it will be worth it at this point.

While Stranger Things, due to the nature of the show, requires a lot of special effects to be applied to the footage in post-production, Bridgerton doesn't seem to need as much.

The waiting game is fun, but only to the point where the end result is actually worth the effort.

If you are still willing to stick around and wait for season 3 of Bridgerton to air, be sure to keep an eye out for any official news, rumors, and behind-the-scenes updates.
