Fans Already Think 'House of the Dragon' Will Dominate the Emmys Next Year

But part of the series' audience is unsure of this assumption. Some fans do not believe at all that brilliant acting guarantees an actual in nominations, arguing that 'Game of Thrones ' actors have never received the number of wins in Emmy nominations everyone expected. For example, Lena Headey has never won an Emmy over the course of the series. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau also lost the chance to get an award when fans were rooting for him to win after he was nominated for his performance in the final two seasons.

The only actor who did manage to get an Emmy for his performance in 'Game of Thrones' was Peter Dinklage, but some fans thought that the actor got an award for his weaker seasons.

Some 'Game of Thrones' actors, unfortunately, have never been nominated at all – for example, Michelle Fairley whose acting skills were highly appreciated by the viewers, especially in 'The Red Wedding' scene. Alfie Allen and Charles Dance did not receive a single nomination either.

However, there are also those who argue that 'House of the Dragon ' should not be compared with 'Game of Thrones' when it comes to the Emmys potential.

The fact is it took that 'Game of Thrones' a lot of time and several seasons to become one of the cult and most popular shows of our time. 'House of the Dragon' situation is completely different: the show attracted the audience's attention from the very beginning, mostly due to the success of 'Game of Thrones'.

Seeing how 'House of the Dragons' enjoys its massive popularity from the very beginning, fans might be right to assume that the show does have a chance of getting more Emmy nominations (and subsequent wins) than 'Game of Thrones'.

After all, Emmy is often considered as somewhat of a popularity contest, awarding the shows with the highest viewership numbers, and 'Game of Thrones' prequel is undoubtedly the biggest series at the moment. 'House of the Dragon' took first place on the most popular new shows list, with second place claimed by 'The Sandman ' and 'The Rings of Power ' taking third.

Fans also believe that the reason 'Game of Thrones' didn't get more Emmy wins was harsh competition. The series did have to compete in the Emmy race against 'Breaking Bad ', and no one could beat that show in the acting or screenplay categories.

The irony is Thrones didn't really start winning tons of awards until the show was in it's bad seasons.
