It looks like Netflix's thriller is on the verge of becoming a cliché.

While fans are still excited for the fourth season of You, they have a problem that is only getting worse as the show continues to promote itself.

The problem is that You doesn't seem to be moving away from its beloved "Joe vs. the rich people" arc, as noted by Redditor hearteyedgvrl. According to the promo, Season 4 will be no exception, and if the fans' concerns prove to be correct, then the show is in danger of becoming boring and predictable.

"Am I the only one getting bored with the same joe vs rich people theme every season? I know that's a big simplification of the show as a whole but this is just one of my opinions, which has grown stronger after watching all the filthy-rich-socialite character sneak peaks for season 4. It just feels tired," the Redditor said.

To be fair, each season of You has focused on Joe's confrontations with wealthy people. In the first season, it was all about Peach, a wealthy friend of Beck's who is the most suspicious of the things Joe is up to. We all know how that turned out.

In Season 2, Joe found himself in a toxic and dysfunctional dynamic with twin siblings Love and Forty, who were both about to inherit a self-care business started by their wealthy parents. Season 3 also brings Joe into contact with the wealthy, particularly Theo Engler and his stepfather Matthew, a prosperous and at times mysterious CEO.

The trailer for season four suggests that You is far from leaving the rich alone, once again introducing viewers to a group of wealthy characters and leading people to believe that the new storyline will not, in fact, be too innovative.

"As if he wasn't inexplicably well off too [...] Honestly, I'm bored of Joe. He is becoming cliché. Nothing he does now is interesting or unexpected," Redditor Prestigious_Sort4979 said.

At least one thing will be new about the upcoming season, however, as this time the stalker becomes the stalked. Fans are already trying to guess who is stalking Joe and how things will turn out for him.

Season 4 Part 1 of You premieres on Netflix on February 9.
