Young Sheldon’s true star is definitely not Sheldon Cooper.

The hit prequel to The Big Bang Theory features a lot of great characters who have been making viewers laugh for six years. Sheldon has his own thing going – watching him not understand sarcasm and make the snarkiest remarks at the same time is a gold mine. Although, it is getting tiresome.

Mary and George’s banter is funny on a relatable level. Many people who are in a relationship have said how their quarrels are reminiscent of their real-life fights with their partners, and that’s another type of humor.

We’ll admit, Georgie was way more amusing in the earlier seasons. He used to be so clueless that it was genuinely endearing. Now that he has grown up, Georgie is more mature, but he still has his moments (especially with Mandy – those two are hilarious together).

Meemaw’s tough-love attitude and dark sense of humor? Hysterical. Annie Potts is a comedic legend, and it shows. She has so much chemistry with any and every other cast member! Plus, no one else would be able to make Connie such a beloved character – she is mean, but we love her.

However, many fans agree that Sheldon’s neighbor (aka former bully?) Billy Sparks is probably the most hilarious character yet. He is simply so innocent that anything that comes out of his mouth gives viewers the urge to chuckle.

Remember the scene where Pastor Jeff gives the kids a task to describe what God is to them during church, and he asks who wants to be the first to answer the question? Billy’s request to “go third” is one of the most effortlessly hilarious lines on the show to date.

Young Sheldon may not have followed all of The Big Bang Theory canon – specifically, it hasn’t shown Billy as Sheldon’s bully yet – but it has done so much more with and for this character.

It’s a real shame that Billy Sparks is still on the sidelines. The audience adores him and wants him to have more screen time. Maybe season 7 will finally be Billy’s time?
