Star Wars has been a beloved part of pop culture for decades.

Fans have eagerly awaited each new piece of the universe with excitement and anticipation. However, the recent addition, Andor, has left some viewers feeling disconnected from the franchise.

The spin-off prequel series follows the character Cassian Andor, who was introduced in the 2016 film Rogue One. The show aims to explore his backstory and how he became a member of the Rebel Alliance.

However, many fans have criticized the series for lacking the spirit and heart of the Star Wars universe.

One of the main criticisms of Andor is that it misses the iconic Star Wars music and aesthetic. The show has a more grounded and gritty tone that some fans feel doesn't match the fantastical and otherworldly elements that make A Galaxy Far, Far Away... unique.

The absence of familiar Rebel characters like Luke Skywalker (who appeared in another Disney+ show, The Mandalorian ) or Princess Leia has left some viewers feeling disconnected from the franchise they love.

However, many fans are defending the series. Of course, there is no classic confrontation between the Sith and the Jedi, and you even have to wait a few episodes for the classic Empire soldiers. But it is definitely Star Wars.

Viewers have been waiting a long time for a show that tells the story of the fight against evil, but not on the side of the Chosen Ones, but rather on behalf of ordinary folks.

Other fans point out that Andor is simply based on the famous franchise. It is as if the series is the sequel to A New Hope, before it became known as Star Wars.

An open battle of the weak against the strong, a fight against tyrants, simply played out in George Lucas' timeless world.

Audiences love that Andor is a reimagining of Star Wars.

"[…] Lightsabers and the force are cool, but Andor is a nice sigh of relief. It's proof Star Wars is more than Jedi and Sith," Redditor gentle_pirate23 said.

Despite these criticisms, there are many fans who enjoy Andor and appreciate the show's attempt to explore new corners of the Star Wars universe.
