Fan Theory Connects Ms. Marvel to Iconic Doctor Strange Villain
Is there more to Kamala Khan than we already know?
It seems that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has more surprises than one could expect, especially when it comes to new characters. After months of knowing Kamala Khan a.k.a. Ms. Marvel, everything could change if a connection unearthed by one fan theory on Reddit turns out to be true.
The theory was brought by Reddit user HuntingTheWumpus, and it suggests that Ms. Marvel is in fact related to… an iconic villain from 'Doctor Strange ', Dormammu. If you think about it, it might make sense.
Dormammu, as well as his sister Umar, comes from a dimension where everything is made of pure light. At the end of 'Multiverse of Madness', the second installment of the Doctor Strange franchise, we get to meet Clea – the daughter of Umar and therefore Dormammu's niece. So, in the MCU, Dormammu has relatives, and they look relatively human – at least that's what we see with Charlize Theron 's Clea.
In 'Ms. Marvel', the audience discovers that Kamala's great-grandmother was from a place called the Light Dimension – which is highly likely the very same place Dormammu and his relatives come from. This leads to thinking that the Djinn might come from the same dimension as Dormammu – and therefore, Kamala might be related to one of the most dangerous villains in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The role of Clea, who appears to be a confirmed Dormammu's descendant, is yet to be determined in the MCU. At the end of 'Multiverse of Madness', she arrives on Earth to ask Doctor Strange for help, even though he appears to already be corrupted by the Darkhold and has a third eye.
It is also unclear to what extent Ms. Marvel is going to be involved in the future of the MCU. Her next appearance will be in 'The Marvels ' – the 2023 movie which is also yet another installment of the Captain Marvel franchise. However, the events of 'The Marvels' are set to take place in space, and it is still unknown whether they will be connected to the multiverse.
