Fan Art Suggests The Walking Dead Star Norman Reedus For MCU's Anticipated Antihero
One role in the MCU that would be absolutely perfect for Norman Reedus.
Ghost Rider is a highly anticipated character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A Reddit user shared a fan art suggesting Norman Reedus for the role.
If you're unfamiliar with Ghost Rider, let us give you a quick rundown. He's an antihero who, in exchange for his soul, becomes the Spirit of Vengeance, a supernatural being with a flaming skull and a blazing motorcycle.
Ghost Rider's dark and gritty persona combined with his supernatural powers make him one intriguing character in the Marvel comic books.
The character has already appeared on both big and small screens. Johnny Blaze as Ghost Rider was portrayed by Nicolas Cage in the 2007 eponymous movie and its 2011 sequel. Marvel fans tend to forget that these movies ever existed due to their mediocre quality.
Then, on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., they brought in a different Ghost Rider named Danny Ketch. However, it is currently unclear if Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is still considered canon to the MCU.
In the comic books, there have been lots of different people who became Ghost Riders at different times. Even if Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is part of the MCU, they can introduce a new person with the power of the Ghost Rider in the future.
If you're a fan of those classic crime movies, you'll totally recognize Norman Reedus from The Boondock Saints (1999). If you're a gamer, you'll know he portrayed the main character in Death Stranding by Hideo Kojima. And of course, he is mostly known for his portrayal of Daryl Dixon in The Walking Dead.
Some of The Walking Dead stars have already appeared in the MCU. Now, picture Reedus in the role of Ghost Rider. It's not hard to see why fans are absolutely stoked about this possibility — Reedus has proven himself as a great actor.
In an interview with ComicBook last July, Norman Reedus straight-up said he wants to play Ghost Rider. Even though the character isn’t expected anytime soon in the MCU, Marvel better listen to what the fans and Reedus himself are saying.
