Fan Art Shows Henry Cavill as Aegon the Conqueror: Love It Or Hate It, It's a Match
Another Game of Thrones prequel is on its way, leaving fans divided.
HBO will release a new Game of Thrones prequel about Aegon I Targaryen, also known as Aegon the Conqueror.
The Aegon the Conqueror series is in the very early stages of development and doesn't even have a screenwriter. However, HBO is actively looking for a writer and hopes to begin work on the series in the near future.
The potential series will focus on the story of how Aegon and his sister-wives Visenya and Rhaenys conquered six of the seven kingdoms.
It was only Dorne that they were not able to seize. This happened 300 years before the events depicted in the Game of Thrones series and described in the books of the A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin.
Aegon the Conqueror became the first Targaryen king of the Seven Kingdoms. It was he who built King's Landing and ordered the creation of the cult Iron Throne from the swords of the enemies he defeated.
In the House of the Dragon, Aegon the Conqueror is mentioned – he had a prophetic dream. According to the prophecy, only the Targaryens should rule the Seven Kingdoms, otherwise Westeros will be engulfed by a terrible winter.
The fact that the project is literally in its infancy hasn't stopped fans from fervently suggesting their favorite for the role of Aegon the Conqueror, Henry Cavill.
Fans claim the British actor was born for the role, and with his departure from The Witcher after season three, Cavill's schedule has been cleared to join another fantasy franchise.
Fans liked the idea of Cavill as Aegon so much that that someone even made a fan art that looks like a full-fledged poster of Henry as Aegon. And it is definitely a match.
Now that Henry Cavill is officially gone from DC and the Witcher series, do you think that is more likely for him to reconsider being part of HOTD? Would you like him in the series?

Such discussions first began when the first season of House of the Dragon revealed that Aegon I Targaryen had visions of a White Walker invasion.
This led to speculation that the character's first flashback might appear in Season 2, with fans suggesting that The Witcher star would be a perfect fit for the role.
Cavill even talked about possibly joining the cast of House of the Dragon Season 2, saying that House of the Dragon looks intimidating, but there's probably no place for him.
However, another part of the fandom feels that it would be a mistake to cast Cavill in any role that involves white hair. Instead, they believe that a younger and unknown actor should be cast as Aegon.
Either way, Cavill's casting for the prequel seems rather implausible. So those who have had time to get bored with Cavill can rest easy.
