Season 1 ending indeed had an Easter egg.

Summary:

  • Prime Video ’s Fallout was quick enough to capture everyone’s attention to the point of being renewed for one more season a week after the first one’s release.
  • Season 1’s ending left fans wondering whether there was a big hint at the show’s future plot — and this theory has recently been confirmed by the show’s creators.
  • While fans are raving about their favorite game location making its appearance in the show’s next season, the latter appears to have a serious problem with its timeline.

It took Prime Video’s Fallout less than 10 days to blow everyone away — to the point that the show got its renewal for a second season a week after the first one was officially released.

The series’ ending left fans bewildered whether there was some kind of spoiler for the show’s promising future, but it now seems to be confirmed by Fallout’s creators.

Based on the video game franchise of the same name, Fallout’s plot takes place somewhere in 2296 in the post-apocalyptic United States with the main character Lucy MacLean desperately searching for her father Hank in deserted Los Angeles.

Her investigations lead to the desired result, but not in its full meaning — the season’s ending finds Lucy reunited with her father, but shattered by the news of his crucial role in the nuclear disaster. The last scenes of the show capture Hank stumbling through a desert towards a tower the spire of which is visible from afar.

The deserted landscapes in the end made fans create exciting suggestions that Fallout’s season 1 isn’t the end, but rather only a beginning of the story which may go further to everyone’s favorite location in the original game — New Vegas.

The theory has just seemingly been confirmed by Bethesda Game Studios' design director Emil Pagliarulo who, in response to some fans wondering if the show will stick to the original game series, said that the crew has “never suggested otherwise”.

Despite the fans’ raving reaction about the next season’s potential, the show has yet to solve a major timeline problem. Given that the first season’s events take place in 2296, New Vegas seems to be out of place as the latter’s plot stories happen much earlier, 15 years before.

Fans would surely turn a blind eye to things like this when it comes to their favorite part of the game, but Fallout’s season 2 still needs to keep their eye on it avoiding obtuse contradictions.
