The Office's Dwight Schrute is one of the most famous know-it-alls on television. However, there was one occasion when someone else outsmarted him!

Not just someone, but Michael Scott of all people. Don't believe us? Here is the deleted scene that can serve as proof.

In the scene, Michael appears to be checking out of Dwight's bed and breakfast Schrute Farms where he stayed for six weeks.

Dwight offers Michael the bill (with a 10% Dunder Mifflin corporate discount, mind you!), to which the latter reacts with shock. Why?

Michael is surprised that Dwight wants to charge him, believing that they are friends (and don't have to pay for favors). Dwight explains that his boss "occupied the America room (supposedly, the best one?) for six weeks" in an election year (the audacity!), and Michael reasonably points out that he was the only guest in the hotel.

Sure, it was all because he took the most popular room…

When logic and reason don't work with Dwight, Michael turns to wit – he pulls out the money to pay and warns Dwight that in this case, they are not friends, they are just doing business. Even the late nights and the slumber parties.

That seems to work on Dwight who has previously dedicated his professional life to becoming his boss' friend and assistant (to the) regional manager.

Michael, you are brilliant, but man you are cold!

Dwight tears up the bill, gives Michael his money back, and does not suspect a single thing. Michael being Michael, he dares to ask the employee he just tricked to help him with the bags.

Say what you will, but Michael is smart when he wants to be. Or is he just a master of manipulation? Maybe Jan has trained him well after all.

Anyway, Dwight may be the smart perfectionist of the show, but he is ready to throw it all away for the people he cares about (and some of them are willing to take advantage of that!). Fact.
