Extraordinary Attorney Woo Star Will Steal Your Heart in Upcoming Romcom
Chicken Nugget just got the most delicious side.
When someone says there's a K-drama for everyone, you better believe it, because no other country produces such a wide variety of stories. From fantasy adventures full of mystical creatures and big battles to sweet and slow-paced love stories, there's no subgenre missing.
K-drama producers must believe that anything in life can be turned into a love story, and they're not wrong. As the most bizarre show of 2024, Chicken Nugget, where the main character turns into a snack food, proved, there are no limits to the writers' imagination. Lee Sun Bin and Kang Tae Oh's new romcom is about to join the ranks.
When Will Potato Research Institute Premiere?
Set to premiere in early 2025, Potato Research Institute will follow another food-obsessed character. Viewers will meet Kim Mi Kyung, a woman who lives in a rural area and loves potatoes, portrayed by Lee Sun Bin. She lives a quiet and peaceful life until her world is changed by a new boss, So Baek Ho.
A capitalist who looks like a dream but isn't easy to get along with, So Baek Ho overlooks Mi Kyung's secret project named after himself. Although the two won't get along at first, love will take over and bring them closer together. This will be the beginning of a blossoming workplace romance.
Both Lee Sun Bin and Kang Tae Oh are not new to acting, but have been away from the small screen for quite some time. Since 2020, Lee Sun Bin has only been appearing in dramas in cameo roles, and her on-screen love interest, Kang Tae Oh, best known for the 2022 hit Extraordinary Attorney Woo, had to take a break due to military service.
“I am a little nervous as this is my first project after I was discharged from the military, but I am more excited about being able to greet viewers again with a great project. I will work hard on filming with joy as much as viewers have waited, so please show lots of interest and anticipation for ‘Potato Research Institute,’” the actor commented.
Even though the show doesn't stand out for its workplace romance premise, viewers are already excited to see a story set far away from Seoul and happy to welcome Kang Tae Oh back to the industry after being discharged.
If you are just as excited for the release of Potato Research Institute, keep an eye out for more news and behind-the-scenes updates to be the first to know the premiere date.
