Everything to Know About The Rookie's Season 7 Newcomers
Should we expect more newbies to come?
Back in 2018, The Rookie started out as a fun show that followed the journey of a man in his 40s who tried to change his life and signed up to become a rookie with the LAPD. Portrayed by Nathan Fillion, John Nolan has gone through a major transformation, both personally and professionally, and is now just as experienced as the rest of the team.
However, the demand for the light-hearted police procedural is still strong, so the show must go on. In order not to tarnish the title, The Rookie needs to introduce a few more actual rookies for Nolan to take under his wing. Now that Deric Augustine and Patrick Keleher have been confirmed for season 7, could they be the new rookies?
The Rookie Season 7 New Cast Members
Deric Augustine and Patrick Keleher are the two actors who have been confirmed to join the show for season 7 as Miles and Seth, both of whom have some serious issues they need to work out. Although both are considered rookies, the fresh blood for the department, each has a unique story.
Deric Augustine's Miles, for example, is not new to the force. He's been serving in Texas for two years now, but with the transfer to Los Angeles, he'll have to face the same struggles that every rookie has to prove himself.
Keleher's Seth, on the other hand, is a picture-perfect officer with only one major flaw: He lacks the quick instincts that every good cop needs to be most effective. He will have to learn to make decisions on the fly if he wants to keep his job.
While Patrick Keleher is a new face to the industry and The Rookie marks his TV debut, some fans of crime and sports dramas may recognize Deric Augustine from his roles in All American, Godfather of Harlem and Criminal Minds.
When Will The Rookie Season 7 Premiere?
Even though ABC has just released its schedule for the 2024/25 season, viewers may be surprised to see that their favorite police drama is not on it. While the seventh season of the drama has been officially ordered by the network, it won't return until midseason. So there is still plenty of time for the network to announce the release date.
