Every The Boys Character Who Was an Easter Egg Before Actually Making Appearance
The Boys always subtly hinted at the upcoming characters.
Ever felt that tingling sense of déjà vu when a new character pops up on The Boys? That's because some of our favorite characters made sneaky mentions way before their actual introduction.
Soldier Boy
Soldier Boy got his first shoutout during a conversation between Stan Edgar and Homelander in the premiere episode of season 2. Plus, if you kept your eyes peeled in the seventh episode, you'd see his statue on a square. So, technically, we did get a peek at him.
In season 3, Jensen Ackles debuted as Soldier Boy, and absolutely stole our hearts.
Lamplighter
Even though Lamplighter doesn't make an appearance in season one, he was once a member of The Seven. Before he appears in season 2, they chat about him enough to make us curious. For example, he can be seen at the mural on the ceiling of Seven Tower.
We can also see his photo when Starlight is introduced as the new member of The Seven. Plus, Mother's Milk tells in season 1 episode 4 about Frenchie's blunder with Lamplighter leading to a tragic end for Mallory's grandkids.
Gunpowder
Before Gunpowder’s appearance in season 3, there is a little nod to the character in episode 2 of season 1. Cherie's watching an interview on TV, and it’s Gunpowder, talking about how he wished more people had guns so he wouldn't have to save them.
Marie Moreau
Before Marie Moreau becomes the main protagonist of The Boys’ spinoff, Gen V, you can spot a blink-and-you-miss-it reference to her. During Hughie and Starlight's sneaky mission to Red River Institute in season 3 episode 2, eagle-eyed fans might have caught a glimpse of Marie Moreau's profile.
Tek Knight
In season 1, In a group meeting of the Association of Collateral Damage Survivors, a woman hostage Tek Knight had saved, expressed that the accident that left her paraplegic.
In season 2, Homelander was casually reminded by Stan Edgar to attend Tek Knight's movie premiere. Im season 3, newspaper clippings of Tek Knight's hostage accident in M.M's closet.
The character finally debuted in Gen V, and will also play part in The Boys season 4.
