Even Andor Creator Didn't Know About Easter Eggs in His Own Show
Turns out some things can be surprising even for the one who's at the wheel.
Andor is remarkably different from any other Star Wars show, not only due to its gloomy tone but also because of it stopping short of packing the series with references and Easter eggs.
However, some Easter eggs do appear in the episodes... but it turns out that even the creator, Tony Gilroy, had no idea about them.
"Every now and then, they sneak s**t in there that even I didn't know," Gilroy told The Hollywood Reporter. "I was reading online about the antiquities in Luthen's gallery, and the provenance of some of those antiquities was news to me. So it was fantastic that the art department snuck those things in there."
Gilroy earlier insisted on refraining from putting too much Star Wars references into Andor in order to "achieve verisimilitude", but it seems that his employees sometimes just can't restrain themselves.
One of the Easter eggs that made its way into the show was Starkiller's Sith Stalker Armor that we saw in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.
Andor Makes It Clear That Palpatine is Star Wars' Most Dangerous Villain
Some fans were a little bit concerned that the show's creator has no idea about certain references being put into the show. But others insisted that the show's quality does not suffer from that.
The way the art department managed to sneak Easter eggs into the show quickly inspired memes.
There are two more episodes of Andor to be released on Disney Plus, with the season finale scheduled for November 23. As of now, ten episodes are already available for streaming on the platform.
