“All for one and one for all!”

Being recognized as one of the sex symbols of the modern movie industry, Eva Green is in fact a French actress who managed to make a great career in Hollywood.

However, the James Bond star didn’t forget her roots, as she returned to the French-language cinema with The Three Musketeers two-part saga that was released last year and was quite successful in France.

If you still haven’t seen these Green-starring period flicks, based on Alexandre Dumas' cultish novel, we bet you’ll like it even if you’re not a book worm or a history enjoyer.

What Are The Three Musketeers Movies About?

The first part, titled The Three Musketeers: D'Artagnan, follows the titular character as he is trying to find his attackers after being left for dead. He teams up with three musketeers of the King, Athos, Porthos and Aramis, to avenge the guilty ones.

Part II, subtitled Milady, continues to depict the risky adventures of the courageous musketeers, but this time they’re about to step into a much more dangerous battle.

The French kingdom is now threatened to be ruined by religious wars and British invasion, that’s why D'Artagnan and his team should tie their fate to that of France.

What Makes This Saga Worth Watching?

Even though these movies contain major alterations from the original, they still appear to be the decent takes on the 19th century classics. The saga both modernizes Dumas’ novel and pays enough respect for it by not going too far from the book.

It all works impeccably here: the greatness of the original, outstanding direction, choreography and set pieces. As for the cast, apart from Green, it assembles the brilliant Vincent Cassel (Black Swan, Jason Bourne) and François Civil (As Above, So Below).
