Because yes, there is yet another time jump coming — although this one is scheduled to be the last.

House of the Dragon makes it really hard to root for its characters — not only because of them being "morally grey" but also because of the time jumps.

Every time the show skips several years, it also changes some of the actors to keep up with the characters' age. They have already changed Milly Alcock's Rhaenyra into Emma D'Arcy's, as well as replacing Emily Carey's Alicent with the older version portrayed by Olivia Cooke.

Now, Alicent's children are to be replaced with older actors; and Aegon Targaryen, who has already become of fans' favorites, is among them.

Fans say that they want Ty Tennant's character to just never get old, calling the incoming replacement "the most upsetting recast ever".

There are people who believe the tendency is that House of the Dragon's younger actors are simply doing a better job than their older counterparts.

"Pretty amazing how well GoT casts child actors across the board. The quality hit rate is higher than average, child actors can easily tank a scene and sometimes even an entire show," Reddit fan Maze_of_Ith7 suggested.

However, others are ready to welcome the older actor, Tom Glynn-Carney.

"I've gotten so attached to his [Ty Tennant's] goofy, meme-worthy relatable performance but I watched clips of the new actor from his previous work and he can also be delightfully unhinged and sassy so I'm feeling hopeful," Redditor mimicme said.

Alicent's kids, despite not having a lot of screen time, have already garnered a lot of fan appreciation — albeit as characters who people "love to hate". Aegon's brother Aemond is going to be replaced by an older actor as well, with Leo Ashton passing the baton to Ewan Mitchell.

House of the Dragon is streaming on HBO Max, with new episodes arriving every Sunday.
