Maybe that is for the better.

The finale of Game of Thrones remains one of the most controversial topics about the show to this day. While some fans hate it to the point of making statements about how it ruined the entire storyline, others believe it wasn't half as bad as it's made out to be online.

Either way, these discussions alone could keep interest in the show as high as it has been for many years to come.

However, not everyone is interested in participating. In fact, even some former Game of Thrones cast members prefer to stay away from the heated arguments about the ending of the show as a whole and their characters in particular.

Since many fans were unhappy with the majority of the show's deaths, it was not an easy task to avoid the negativity.

However, Emilia Clarke, who portrayed Daenerys Targaryen and was the obvious favorite among the majority of viewers, doesn't think it's necessary for her to know what other people think. In fact, she hasn't really noticed the reactions of outsiders because she was "too busy focusing on her own reactions."

The actress opened up about her complicated relationship with online criticism in an interview with The Daily Telegraph:

“I don’t Google myself; I don’t read reviews. Which makes it sounds like I’ve got my sh*t together, but it doesn’t help me to hear someone say, “You’re great,” and it doesn’t help me to hear someone say, “Hey, you piece of sh*t, why are you so fat?” Those are the extremes you deal with when you read about yourself on the internet,” Clarke admitted.

As much as we want the actress to feel all the love and support she and her character are getting on social media from all over the world, it's easy to understand where she's coming from. After all, the damage that the Internet's harsh reactions can do to one's mental health is far worse than staying in the dark.

If you want to relive Daenerys Targaryen's rather tragic Game of Thrones ending, you can stream the show on MAX, Hulu, or Amazon Prime Video.
