Elliot Page Sums Up The Umbrella Academy Season 4 in Just Two Words
And we're already scared.
Summary:
- The Umbrella Academy will wrap its story up with season 4
- The fourth and final chapter will arrive on Netflix on August 8
- Elliot Page, who portrays Viktor Hargreeves in the series, has come forward with a very vague description of what's to come in The Umbrella Academy final season
As we The Umbrella Academy fans are getting ready for a final apocalypse to bid farewell to the chaotic Hargreeves family, one of its stars, Elliot Page, is here to tease us with just two words about what we should expect.
According to Page, who, obviously, isn't allowed to share too much, it will be "very fun."
"I’m not really allowed to say anything but it’s gonna be, as per usual, very fun, classic Hargreeves chaos and hijinks," the actor told RadioTimes.
That's not everything Elliot had to say. In his interview for The Hollywood Reporter, when promoting his new movie Close to You, he mentioned that the action scenes he had to shoot for The Umbrella Academy season 4 made him feel like a kid again.
“I was having so much fun,” he said. “I was like six years old in my bedroom.”
While the insight into the finale is not too detailed, it definitely hints at a fun final ride for the Hargreeves family, who were last seen in a completely new alternative timeline. In that timeline, they all (except Alicent) were stripped of their powers, and their father Reginald enjoyed complete control of pretty much everything.
Back in June 2022, The Umbrella Academy showrunner Steve Blackman told The Wrap that the final season will be just as chaotic and apocalyptic as the previous three chapters... with maybe a little bit of a twist.
"It’s a challenge to come up with a new way to subvert this storyline, and I think we have an idea how to do that. But I think if we got to Season 4, it would be a great ending for the run of the show," he noted.
Now that almost two years have passed, things may certainly have changed. Recently, Netflix has confirmed that the final season will premiere on August 8, and so far, we only have several posters as promotional material.
The main poster, which resembles an umbrella consisting of subway lines, clearly hints that a) the final season will try and tie all the loose ends; b) there are still many unanswered questions left, and every character has a "milestone" event they are yet to experience.
To make the wait for the final season less painful, you can stream all three seasons of The Umbrella Academy on Netflix now.
