What made the Scarlet Witch costume not so comfortable in Avengers: Infinity War?

Let’s admit it, even after what Wanda Maximoff, aka the Scarlet Witch, did during her last MCU appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, we still love this powerful heroine-turned-baddie.

While Elizabeth Olsen, the talented actress who brought the character to life, was absolutely great in the role, she has had quite a journey with her character's costumes.

Over the years in the MCU, lots of characters have changed up their outfits. Heroes like Thor and Captain America did this a bunch of times. Even Wanda Maximoff tried out different looks as Scarlet Witch, but not all those costumes were comfortable for Elizabeth Olsen.

In an interview with Elle, Olsen revealed that she wasn't thrilled with the Scarlet Witch's costume in Avengers: Infinity War.

She expressed her discomfort with the cleavage-centric design, pointing out that she was the only one among her female co-stars, like Scarlett Johansson and Tessa Thompson, who had such a revealing outfit.

In her words, she felt like she was the "only one who has cleavage."

When Olsen first joined the MCU, she was relieved to learn she wouldn't have to wear the classic Scarlet Witch costume from the comics, which consisted of a leotard and a headband.

While it might have been iconic in the comic books, it was deemed too impractical for the live-action adaptation. However, WandaVision cleverly incorporated this classic look in a Halloween episode, presenting it as a playful nod to the original design.

WandaVision brought a refreshing change for Olsen. Not only did she get to don the classic comic book attire for a fun episode, but she also had a say in the design of her new Scarlet Witch costume.

The series' director, Matt Shakman, collaborated with Olsen to ensure the new outfit was both stunning and functional. Olsen shared in a X (formerly known as Twitter) Q&A that she was thrilled with the final look, describing it as "silly, goofy, and perfect."

She felt that fans would appreciate the homage to the classic design while enjoying the modern twist.
