In Schitt's Creek, there are quite a few moments that are asking for a grim and dark explanation.

Fans gladly provide those, making the series lore appear in a whole different light, and sometimes, their theories go really far. This one's definitely going to make you see the show in a new way, and you'll either love it or hate it.

The theory we're talking about revolves around Mutt Schitt, the son of the mayor. What's there to say about him, you may think?

Possibly the worst conversationalist in history, he mostly keeps to himself but still manages to attract ladies' attention throughout the town by being the most attractive man in the hood.

But he may very well be not as simple as he seems: behind the fancy taciturn facade might be hiding a monster! According to Reddit user trashpanda8947, that is.

Do you remember Moira's surprise party? Mutt came there in a suit that was so clearly someone else's that Alexis jokingly asked him if he had to kill someone for it.

Mutt's reaction was suspicious, to say the least: he let out that heavy panicked laugh and confirmed what she said, trying to also turn it into a joke.

After Ted took Alexis away, Mutt stood there and bitterly muttered, "killed a man for it..." under his breath as if reflecting on something.

A few weeks later, the body of a local man who was missing was found at the bottom of the lake. What's interesting is that he disappeared around the time of Moira's party where Mutt was wearing someone else's suit and stressing over murder jokes…

Later yet, when Mutt and Tennessee are dating, they go to a pinecone harvest together. Even though Mutt's totally not excited about it and hates the idea, he still goes with his girlfriend.

Why would he do that? Well, considering he then disappears for around a year, it's possible he just decided to lay low for a while because the investigation of that man's death is still going on.

The next time Mutt appears in the town, he claims that he and Tennessee were fighting too much on the way to the pinecone camp and she dumped him.

According to Mutt, she immediately decided to marry Moonshine and live with him and his daughter, Petal.

But since no one heard from Tennessee, it's entirely possible that he just got rid of her and she was at the bottom of a lake just like that man.

Because why else would Mutt actually continue his way to the camp, stay and work there after they already broke up with Tennessee if he hated it?

There are only two logical explanations: either he needed an alibi or he never really went to the pinecone camp.

Everything in this theory ties together to prove that Mutt could've been a serial killer. The real question is, who else fell victim to him while he was on his travels?
