After almost thirty years, it's pretty safe to say that From Dusk Till Dawn is an iconic movie. At the very least, it's one of the most iconic action horrors.

It has amazing action scenes, a whole lot of adrenaline, and a fantastic cast — what else do you need?

Now, what if we told you that in this iconic movie, one of the most iconic scenes could've been missed because of an iconic cast member? All icons aside, that's exactly what happened.

We're talking about Salma Hayek's dance with the giant yellow snake: as it turned out, the actress had Ophidiophobia and was completely terrified at the thought of having a giant snake on her.

It was not initially included in the script, and the idea came as a total surprise — or, rather, shock — to Salma.

But at that point, Tarantino and Rodriguez were unstoppable: they told Salma they'd find another actress who wouldn't have an issue with snakes. Salma, however, kept herself together and decided to deal with her fears face to face.

The actress decided to conduct some research to help change her attitude toward snakes. As weird as it may sound, it worked!

And in a different way than you'd expect: Salma found out that sometimes, snakes represent a person's inner strength… And basically brainwashed herself into ignoring the snake and imagining herself dancing with her inner strength!

It's hard to argue with the results: the scene turned out amazing and became one of the most iconic (yes!) moments of From Dusk Till Dawn.

But you may be wondering: how did the actress conjure so much inner strength to overcome her greatest fear all by herself while most shrinks take ages to do something about people's phobias?

The answer is far less mysterious than you might have expected at this point, after all the snake-inner-strength symbolism.

Salma later admitted that she just really needed money to pay her rent.
