Donnie Wahlberg Puts Jenny McCarthy Casting Rumors to Rest, Blue Bloods Fans Disappointed
Not even a cameo? Well, seems like there's nothing we can do about it.
When it comes to the world of entertainment, nothing is off the table. So when Blue Bloods star Donnie Wahlberg mentioned the possibility of his wife, Jenny McCarthy, making an appearance on the hit procedural, fans were intrigued.
After all, McCarthy does have not only a personal connection to the show, but a long history of acting, with appearances in films like BASEketball and Scream 3, as well as a starring role in John Tucker Must Die.
But before fans could get too excited about the possibility of McCarthy joining the cast of Blue Bloods, Wahlberg quickly shot down his own idea, reminding us that McCarthy is currently busy judging on the hit show The Masked Singer.
"She has a job though on another hit show, so I don't think that's going to work out," the actor admitted to ET.
Last time we actually saw Jenny on the small screen was back in 2017, when she starred in several episodes of short-lived Return of the Mac series.
Blue Bloods Fans Not Holding Back Their Disapproval of Baez
However, that hasn't stopped fans from speculating about what role McCarthy could play on the show. Some have suggested that she could be Danny Reagan's new love interest, while others think she could at least appear in some kind of funny cameo / a nod to her real-life marriage to Wahlberg.
Of course, not all fans are thrilled at the idea of McCarthy joining Blue Bloods in however capacity it's possible.
Some have expressed disappointment at the possibility of her taking away screen time from the show's core cast. Others have pointed out that McCarthy doesn't have the same level of acting experience as some of the other cast members, and may not be the best fit for the show.
Despite the mixed reactions, it's clear that the idea of McCarthy joining the cast of Blue Bloods has sparked a lot of interest and debate among fans. While it's unlikely that she'll be making an appearance anytime soon, it's always possible that the show's producers may consider her for a future role. After all, it doesn't seem like Blue Bloods is going to end anytime soon, so there's still plenty of time for McCarthy potential cameo.
