Donnie Wahlberg Is Positive About Blue Bloods' Future Despite Pay Cuts
The Reagan family is going to be just fine.
Blue Bloods has been messing with fans' nerves quite a lot recently, because for a long time there was no news about the renewal of the series.
They even started to worry the show would be canceled, but as it turned out later, all the worries were for nothing.
The good news came about the extension of the fan-favorite police procedural for at least one more season.
However, the renewal was not possible without a significant pay cut that the cast and producers had to agree to, with the crew to be paid 25% less.
But one person seemed confident the whole time everything was going to be alright.
Donnie Wahlberg has been starring as Danny Reagan on Blue Bloods for more than a decade, and even though the show came dangerously close to being shut down, the actor was very open to the idea of portraying the character well beyond the show's already announced 14th season.
In an interview with US Magazine, he said that he is an optimist and really appreciates each and every episode he is in.
The actor is sure that this is the main reason why he has enjoyed being a part of the show for 13 years.
It's almost obvious that the reason why Wahlberg is so confident that he will continue to play the detective is because Danny Reagan is actually one of the most favored characters, according to the fans.
The actor has really put a lot of effort into his performance; naturally , it doesn't go unnoticed, and the success of the show relies heavily on Wahlberg.
But Wahlberg himself modestly declines all the praise and is sure that there is someone else the showrunners should thank for the series' success.
The actor feels that the longstanding loyalty of the fans is what kept Blue Bloods alive all this time.
So now there are more than enough reasons to believe that Wahlberg will have no trouble stepping into Danny Reagan's shoes for the time being, as far as Blue Bloods fans are interested.
