Does Wakanda Forever Have Two Black Panthers?
Have you watched that new trailer closely?
The identity of the incoming Black Panther has been a mystery ever since the second installment of the franchise was confirmed to be moving on without recasting late Chadwick Boseman's T'Challa. Fans have been debating on whether it is going to be Shuri, or even Okoye or Nakia, but it seems that there is a surprise option.
What if there is simply more than one new Black Panther?
Some people claimed that several Black Panthers have already been revealed in the newly-released trailer for the movie.
If these are indeed two different Black Panthers, people went on, then it's possible that both Shuri and Nakia (or any other two characters) have suited up. Others even suggested that Killmonger might be back in the suit.
"Nakia and Shuri. Mystery solved for the most obvious question. I bet Shuri will only don the suit for a bit, but Nakia will be the official BP since she can actually fight and has all the needed qualities." – @Super_Shanko
However, some people also believe that fans are way too into wishful thinking, and both shots show the same Black Panther with even the suit being identical. A notorious shot of Maria Rambeau as Captain Marvel in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has been quickly brought up as an example of the Marvel fandom sometimes rushing to conclusions. Back at the time of the Multiverse of Madness trailer, people would presume that it was not Maria but rather Invincible Iron Man portrayed by Tom Cruise — which was never true.
Still, there is one stark difference between the suits in the two shots. One appears to have dots sprinkled across the helmet, while another one doesn't have them. It could either be two different suits or the same suit but with dots concealed for some reason.
T'Challa's successor has never been officially introduced by the Black Panther creators, which makes fans even more excited for the second movie to finally come out. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will hit theaters on November 11, 2022, concluding Phase Four of the MCU.
