Does Someone Die in 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' Finale?
It's hard to avoid drama when a big show ends.
Warning: the following article contains spoilers for 'Obi-Wan Kenobi ' episode 6
Despite the heebie-jeebies fans experienced as they awaited for the 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' finale, it seems that those responsible for the story of the Jedi Master decided to spare them this time.
The sixth and final episode indeed had an epic "rematch of the century" between Kenobi and his notorious ex-padawan Darth Vader, but all the favourite characters were left to live.
Such an outcome appears to be reasonable, because the events of 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' take place before old 'Star Wars ' movies that feature the majority of characters involved in the new TV show. However, with Disney not shying away from retconning the 'Star Wars' universe from time to time, it was possible that the "rematch of the century" could have either Obi-Wan or Darth Vader killed.
Still, the finale showed Kenobi walking away after the duo crossed lightsabers. He came to kill Anakin, but the latter said he already did it himself, metaphorically indicating that Anakin's personality is now ultimately replaced by that of Darth Vader.
The lack of heartbreaking deaths, however, did not prevent fans from going all emotional about the end of season 1. Many people even acknowledged that the criticism the series initially faced appeared to be exaggerated.
Now, a lot of 'Star Wars' fans took to Twitter to rally for season 2 of 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' to be greenlit. Even though the studio has not yet commented on the possibility of another season, chances are the Jedi Master will soon return to small screens given the many hints from the cast and crew that emerged over the recent weeks.
