Does Leaked Scooby-Doo Movie Give Us Hope to See Batgirl One Day?
A previously scrapped (though fully completed) animated Scooby-Doo! And Krypto, Too! animated film has mysteriously appeared online, leaked by an anonymous party.
Shady as it may sound, it may give Batgirl fans a glimmer of hope.
The animated film, which is a crossover between the world of Scooby-Doo and the DC Universe, was one of the initial line of tax write-offs during the recent turmoil that seems to have taken place at Warner Bros. Discovery.
Fans remember the infamous case of the fully filmed Batgirl movie, which was shelved as a cost-cutting measure to presumably never see the light of day.
"I'm still mad that an entire movie can be destroyed as a tax write off. And I refuse to believe WB, makers of such incredible films as; Suicide Squad, thought Batgirl wasn't good enough to release. Really keeping up with that quality, like Wonder Woman '84." Redditor user Rogu3Wo1f said.
Sadly, it was the WBD animated world, and in particular that of Scooby-Doo, that suffered the most. Apart from Scooby-Doo! And Krypto, Too! at least three other cartoons set in the Scooby-Doo universe fell victim to WBD's content purge.
The others being: Scoob! Holiday Haunt, Scooby-Doo and the Haunted High Rise, and Scooby-Doo! and the Mystery Pups.
Now that Scooby-Doo! And Krypto, Too! has somehow illegally found its way online, fans can't help but wonder if the live-action Batgirl movie will follow suit. At least fans sure hope so.
"I hope Batgirl leaks." Redditor AlacarLeoricar said what many were at least secretly thinking.
"Good. I hope Batgirl leaks too. WB basically scammed the tax system." Redditor Fritzo2162 said.
While discussing the leak that brought Scooby-Doo! And Krypto, Too! online, a point was made that is also valid for the Batgirl movie starring Leslie Grace, Michael Keaton and Brendan Fraser.
"people worked on this thing and there's no reason for their labor to get chucked because nerds don't care about superman 's dog or whatever," Redditor violent_prophet00 said.
While animated series Velma has been released on HBO max to probably the worst ratings in the history of ratings, we will just leave the following fan reaction speak for itself:
"Wait it was cancelled?! Zaslav really up and canceled 4 Scooby-Doo projects while keeping Velma. The **** did the talking dog do to him?" Redditor MetalJrock asks.
While we don't condone digital piracy in any way, looks like one detective dog has just brought a little hope for Batgirl fans.
