Nobody hates Chris these days. They hate Sheldon instead.

Young Sheldon is a great TV show that is good on its own, even if we forget about the fact it is a TBBT spinoff.

Iain Armitage absolutely nailed the role of the young version of the iconic character. But do Young Sheldon's characters love him as much as we do?

As it turns out, to many viewers it seems like many people on the show dislike Sheldon. As an example, Reddit fans mentioned such characters as Missy, Dr. Linkletter, Pastor Jeff and others.

But other fans were quick to note that we shouldn't confuse hatred with annoyance. And it is true, hardly anyone truly hates or dislikes Sheldon, but certainly many people are annoyed with him.

And most of the time the reason for the annoyance that Sheldon provokes is his intelligence.

For example, Pastor Jeff just doesn't want Sheldon to show up in the church, as he asks questions that Pastor Jeff struggles to answer (and feels embarrassed because of that).

The same way was Sheldon's experiences with his high school teachers, who also reacted poorly when he questioned or corrected them.

Missy also expresses certain annoyance towards Sheldon, and it is no wonder, but her actions numerously showed that she actually cares about him.

Regarding Dr. Linkletter, he shares the sentiment of finding Sheldon irritating and definitely wasn't pleased when he was assigned the role of Sheldon's mentor in Dr. Sturgis' absence at the university.

However, he does make an effort to guide Sheldon in the right direction.

Fans absolutely love any interaction between Sheldon and Dr. Linkletter. Instead of losing his composure, Dr. Linkletter cleverly employs sarcasm, which Sheldon consistently fails to grasp.

The comedic timing between these two is exceptional.

So clearly nobody hates Sheldon, but the intelligence he possesses is his gift and curse at the same time, in the sense that he is too self-centered and sometimes can say things that seem harmless to him but inappropriate for others.

Two-episode finale of season 6 will air this Thursday on CBS, make sure not to miss out.
