Do They Swear in Stranger Things? 3 Times Characters Dropped F-Bombs

While Stranger Things definitely started off as a show for the younger audience and had similarly young cast members, with time, it started diverting from the “no curse” rule. Curiously enough, F-bombs have only been dropped three times throughout the entire duration of the series, and all three of them were dropped in Season 3.

F-bomb #1: S3E3, Will Byers

What an unlikely character to cuss so violently — and be the first one to do that in the entire show! Will Byers is generally a shy and good-natured boy, and up until S3E3, he never even swore. But when he got into a fight with his friends Mike and Lucas, he felt so frustrated and devastated that he yelled, dropping the first F-bomb.

While the entire scene of Will tearing down Castle Byers in anger was dedicated solely to him, due to the loud music, many viewers never realized what he yelled.

F-bomb #2: S3E4, Billy Hargrove

Now, this is the character we could definitely see dropping the F-bomb before it happened. Billy Hargrove, the Hawkins bad boy, was possessed by the Mind Flayer, and it took control after Billy’s sister Max and the gang locked him up in the sauna. The Mind Flayer launched itself into the window, trying to reach Max to hurt her.

The exact wording was, "I'll f*cking gut you!" yelled out by the Mind Flayer in Billy’s body, and the terrifying cry only made the scene more intense and violence-fueled.

F-bomb #3: S3E6, Max Mayfield

Just two episodes later, it was Billy’s younger sister who (almost) dropped the third F-bomb in Stranger Things. Having recently joined the Hawkins gang, Max was there with them when they entered the hospital room and saw Nancy being attacked by the Mind Flayer. Shocked and scared, Max added her own cuss to this small list.

However, unlike her brother, Max never finished the word — not because of how humble she was but because Eleven launching the beast flying distracted her.
