We said what we said.

Sometimes popular and even cult movies are not as good as they are described. The plot is yawn-inducing, the acting is annoying, and the visual style is simply off-putting.

One is left wondering what exactly it was that hooked fans or professional critics.

5. Avatar

A big movie attraction that made all the money in the world. One can't critisize the technical side of Avatar, it has a completely hypnotic effect – you can't tear yourself away from the movie when you watch it in the theater.

On the screen of an ordinary computer or TV, however, this movie magic disappears. And what is left is just a movie that has absolutely nothing new to offer the viewer.

4. Django Unchained

In this movie, Tarantino embarks on a dangerous journey through the vastness of the Wild West, inspired by spaghetti westerns – as always, in the company of brilliant artists and to luxurious music.

The director has decided not to look for such a way to put together almost three hours of running time and the movie starts to lose momentum in the second half. One hour of monotonous action with two endings can tire even the most dedicated Tarantino fan.

3. Nocturnal Animals

The design side of Nocturnal Animals – sets, costumes, long staged shots – looks much more convincing than the characters. The actors don't quite know what they're supposed to be playing, and the drama in both of the movie's stories feels contrived and awkward.

2. Scarface

The very title of Brian De Palma's movie is legendary. It is the foundation of the gangster genre and the canonical role of Al Pacino. The cultural impact of this image of power and greed is not just great, it's enormous.

The only thing is that Scarface is just a good movie about a bad person doing terrible things. Al Pacino played it brilliantly, but in general the image of the mafia and drugs is overrated beyond belief.

1. Tenet

On the one hand, it is understandable why everyone was so enthusiastic about Tenet in the beginning. It was the only big budget blockbuster coming out in the summer of 2020. But on the other hand, many fans believe that Tenet is Christopher Nolan 's worst movie.

Like many of his movies, most people need to re-watch it to understand the complex plot. When you watch it again, the thought comes to mind that you are watching one of the worst Hollywood movies ever made.

There is no character development and no point at all. And at the end of the movie, it becomes clear that no one was in any kind of danger.
