The complicated stories of both movies have something in common.

Even though Inception is a 2010 hit film and Oppenheimer is not released yet, there are already speculations about their somewhat similar plot twists. Actually, those speculations began after Christopher Nolan, the genius director of both films, explained the connection between his movies.

The thing is that both movies have got really controversial finales. As Nolan said, the ending of his new movie will also leave viewers with complicated feelings, like his Inception did more than 10 years ago.

Hardly anyone who saw the movie was satisfied with the ending. And since the film's debut, its final sequence has always been a huge discussion among fans, as it leaves plenty of room for interpretation.

Has Leonardo DiCaprio 's character really come out of the world of dreams and found happiness with his children? Or is he actually still lost somewhere in reality?

The question of Cobb's future will never be answered, so fans might be better off accepting that it could be anything and choosing the version they feel closer to.

In fact, this kind of complexity is considered a signature of Nolan's work, as fans have long noticed. So his hints at similar endings isn’t actually breaking news, although it’s always good to hear an explanation from the director.

While Oppenheimer may have a more concrete answer, it's still an unsettling, Inception-like finale.

"It's funny, I think there is an interesting relationship between the endings of Inception and Oppenheimer to be explored. Oppenheimer's got a complicated ending. Complicated feelings," Nolan shared with Wired.

The film is set to release on July 21.
