Well, first of all, it should be noted that so far there are no talks about making a sequel to Devil Wears Prada.

So questions about what might or might not happen in such a sequel remain purely theoretical.

But in case it ever gets to be made – and with the studio still employing the screenwriter of the original film, Aline Brosh McKenna – Aline has clear opinions about what is going to happen in the sequel. In particular, she does not believe that Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway ) is going to keep dating Nate Cooper (Adrian Grenier), even though Andy and Nate have reconciled at the end of Devil Wears Prada.

"Andy and Nate are definitely not together," she said in an interview with Variety. "That much I can tell you."

However, she does not share an opinion prevalent in certain sections of the film's fans, who perceive Nate as an outright villain for not being entirely and totally supportive of Andy's career choice, even though pretty much the whole movie (starting with its title) is centered around Andy getting forced to sacrifice both personal morals and human decency for the sake of advancing her career as a journalist at Runway, a fashion magazine which serves as a thinly-veiled stand-in for Vogue.

As Aline told in an interview with Entertainment Weekly:

"He's saying [she's] following the devil down the wrong path. And that's his role, which is often a role played by women, which is to remind the character of their moral intentions. I think he isn't unsupportive of her work; he's happy for her, at the end. I don't think it's like he doesn't want her to work."

She further explained:

"What he is critical of is that the values that she set out for herself, she is not following through on, and there's a hypocrisy there."

While Aline notes that Nate is somewhat immature and brattish, their romance with Andy not working out, at least in her mind, should not be attributed to moral faults on his part.

But in any case, we're not going to see Aline's take on the screen, as the idea of re-uniting the cast and the crew of Devil Wears Prada for a sequel remains in the realm of wishful thinking.
