Many people are incorporating AI tools into their daily workflow, trying to either make their jobs easier or tasks faster. Some even go so far as to cheat the system and pass off AI-generated content as their own. But there are far less sinister ways to use the technology to your advantage.

For example, to keep you entertained while you wait for a new season of your favorite show. This is exactly what Grey's Anatomy fans did, and the results were unpredictably hilarious, to say the least.

Derek Shepherd’s Secret Past

According to a post by user RepulsiveDaikon1142 on the r/greysanatomy subreddit, they asked the AI bot to come up with a script for a Grey's Anatomy episode. Whether or not the prompt was for the episode to revolve around Derek Shepherd, who hasn't been alive since season 12 of the show, is unknown.

However, as one of the most popular characters, he did appear in this script. But not in his usual setting: instead of doing surgery, he found himself learning all about latte art as a barista. Don't get too upset, though, because the surgery was apparently still the only thing on his mind.

While the thought of someone performing an impromptu brain surgery right in the coffee shop is very disturbing, it also sounds right up Shondaland's alley. Unfortunately, we probably won't see Derek Shepherd in an episode, even in a flashback as dramatic as this one, but the story could easily go to any other character the writers choose.

So be prepared to expect the worst if you ever see an episode called Brewed Decisions coming your way. To see if season 20 of the show would be a good match for AI in terms of insanity levels, be sure to tune in to ABC on March 14, 2024.
