'Delusional' The Witcher Producer Needs a Reality Check ASAP, Fans Say
Tomek Bagiński defends the recasting of Henry Cavill with some rather controversial arguments, further enraging fans.
The third season of The Witcher TV series officially ended on July 27th, marking the end of Henry Cavill 's portrayal of the titular monster hunter Geralt of Rivia.
Some fans have already given up on the rest of the series, as Henry was the only thing worth watching for them.
Others want to at least give Liam Hemsworth, who will be the new face of Geralt in the coming seasons, a chance, but the overall situation doesn't look particularly good for the series.
However, it seems that the show's executive producer Tomek Bagiński has a different opinion, as he defended the decision to recast Cavill with some extremely controversial arguments that only made the fans even more angry.
In an interview with Wyborcza, Bagiński stated that he is happy that the show has become extremely popular and believes that the character has already become as iconic as "Batman, Superman and James Bond. "
Therefore, he sees nothing wrong with the recasting of Cavill, because although they may not have expected it to happen so soon, "it happened now."
Fans are stunned by this statement, calling it absolutely delusional and believing that Bagiński desperately needs a reality check.
First of all, they say that while The Witcher has gained significant popularity in recent years, there is absolutely no way that it is nearly as legendary as the aforementioned franchises.
Next, fans believe that the TV series has little to do with the franchise's rise to worldwide fame, as it was the video game series of the same name developed by CD Projekt Red that opened the world of The Witcher to a wider audience.
And finally, they are wondering, if Geralt is such an icon, why was he practically spiked throughout season 3, with hardly any focus on him?
Considering all this, it seems that at least some of the creators are wearing rose-colored glasses and are defending their work at all costs.
Anyway, the fate of the series after the departure of its main star will become clear after the release of season 4, the release date of which hasn't been announced yet.
