Look out for more period drama to finish the year on the right note.

While many viewers are sad, confused, and bored this TV season without new episodes of their favorite shows to return to, others are not doing so badly. For those shows that finished production before the actors and writers strike hit Hollywood, it's all a matter of scheduling.

Two of the biggest production studios and streaming services, Netflix and Apple Plus, for example, have no shortage of content to fill the rest of 2023. Not only are they working outside of the U.S., but they also have a lot in the pipeline and ready to release.

Bridgerton and The Buccaneers are two premieres that sound the most promising for all the period drama lovers out there. And they have a lot more in common than you might think off the top of your head.

The Buccaneers is an upcoming show that the platform itself promises to be “a lavish, star-studded” adaptation of Edith Wharton's final book. Starring Kristine Frøseth, Alisha Boe, Josie Totah, and many other talented young actors, the show will premiere with three episodes on November 8, 2023. From there, new episodes will be released every week until December 13.

What's even better is that such a well-thought-out schedule may lead viewers right to the premiere of Bridgerton season 3. Although it's not officially confirmed by Netflix, many fans believe that their favorite Regency romance will continue on December 14, 2023, due to a leak that happened at TUDUM even earlier this year.

With the season already filmed and likely edited, this date seems to be more than plausible to be the real one. Besides, although no one confirmed it to be true, no one rushed to refute it as well, leaving the audience hanging without any answers.

While many refuse to believe in anything until it's set in stone (or at least shared on Netflix's official social media), this series of shows would certainly make a very nice early Christmas present for all the period drama lovers out there. So no one can deny you the privilege of believing in a miracle that could bring this theory to life.

Until then, keep an eye out for all the latest news and behind-the-scenes updates to make sure you do not miss anything important about the upcoming TV premieres.
