Deadpool 3 Rumor: Channing Tatum Might Finally Play Gambit
The actor was set to play a superhero in a solo movie that was eventually canceled.
Deadpool will go on a journey through time in his new solo movie. He will be accompanied by Wolverine, played by Hugh Jackman. With his actions, Deadpool will surely affect the entire multiverse, so he will end up in different realities.
Fans are expecting a lot of multiverse cameos in Deadpool 3, similar to those of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Rumors of Channing Tatum joining the cast of Deadpool 3 began long before filming started.
Tatum and Ryan Reynolds not only have a long-standing friendship, but also a failed collaboration. Prior to Disney 's purchase of Fox, Channing Tatum was set to play Gambit in a standalone movie. But directors left the project, funding was cut, and ultimately the merger deal killed it.
Tatum admitted that the news of the cancellation upset him greatly, as he had dreamed of playing the character. Now, justice may be partially restored. A new rumour suggests that Gambit will appear in one of the scenes of Deadpool 3 along with other X-Men.
According to Comic Book Movie, one of the other surprises could be the return of Daredevil played by Ben Affleck, better known as the Batman of the DC Extended Universe. Affleck has been spotted on the set of Deadpool 3.
The Deadpool 3 filming process is going through a period of uncertainty, according to some publications. Deadline mentioned in a recent article that shooting of the movie was coming to an end, but subsequently removed that information, leaving only a mention of the triquel's release date.
At the same time, some insiders claim that the third Deadpool will require significant reshoots, and this process will strongly depend on the situation with the Writers Guild of America strike and the possible Screen Actors Guild strike.
There has been no official statement from Marvel Studios regarding the production status of Deadpool 3. Filming began in May of this year and the release date is still set for May 3, 2024.
