Deadpool 3 Might Doom Itself with a Multiverse Storyline
If the insiders’ information is correct, the last Deadpool installment will abuse the increasingly popular issue of Multiverse, too… And this may be its biggest mistake.
While the main storyline of Deadpool 3 has not been officially confirmed or even hinted at yet, this has raised many theories and speculations, some of which we shared with you.
Fans have been coming off the slightest notions from the movie creators’ side, and some of their ideas actually came close to the recent news.
For instance, one of the fan theories for the franchise’s finale that we shared with you stated that the main antagonist of Deadpool 3 will be… Deadpool himself.
We speculated that there could be an alternative version of the Merc with a Mouth that for some reason had a conflict with the “original” Merc, and look where we’re at now.
One of the industry’s bigger scoopers, CanWeGetSomeToast, recently revealed new details about the upcoming movie, and we honestly didn’t expect to hit this close to home. According to the insider, the final installment will in fact have more than one Deadpool but for a completely different reason… The one we don’t find appealing.
“You're right: there aren't just 2 Deadpools, there are more,” wrote the scooper replying to his “colleague” who suggested there won’t be two Merc in the movie.
This is a pretty big piece of news in itself, but CanWeGetSomeToast didn’t stop there: insider claims that Deadpool 3 will be a full-on Multiverse with numerous versions of other characters, too.
“Deadpool isn’t the only character getting multiple variations. We’re also going to get at least one other Wolverine in Deadpool 3,” the scooper added later.
While it’s still unknown whether this scoop is true or not, the very idea of Deadpool heading in the Multiverse direction is scary — and can doom the movie entirely.
To begin with, there will inevitably be accusations of DC trying to copy the Spiderverse’s success. Also, the Multiverse isn’t the easiest concept, and it can easily fall apart.
For every great Multiverse movie, there are quite a few pathetic and incoherent ones, and it’s thin ice here.
If Deadpool wants to flood its last installment with a bunch of other versions of himself that the audience has no emotional attachment to, it could quickly turn the entire movie into a disastrous failure.
