Fans barely had time to digest the wonderful news that a new adaptation of the Silent Hill game was coming to the big screen when Blumhouse announced that the multiplayer game Dead by Daylight would also become a horror movie.

Dead by Daylight was released in 2016, and since then more than 50 million players have entered the game's dark world. The game does not stand still and the developers are still actively updating it with new locations and characters.

Dead by Daylight is inspired by horror movies — especially slashers. The essence of the game is that a team of survivors — from 1 to 4 people — oppose the maniac-player.

The survivors need to fix the generators and escape from the killers' lair, and the maniac needs to use the survivors as victims for the bloody ritual.

Although there's no director or screenwriter yet, fans agree that there's not much to worry about since James Wan and Jason Blum will be the producers of the movie.

James Wan has long made a name for himself in the horror genre, directing hit films such as The Conjuring, Insidious and Dead Silence, while Jason Blum has produced numerous acclaimed movies such as The Invisible Man and Get Out.

"In 'Dead by Daylight' the Behaviour team has created a love letter to the world of horror, building an incredible environment teeming with atmosphere and terrifying villains — perfect for a scary cinematic adaptation.

We're big fans of the game at Atomic Monster, and are thrilled to be teaming up with Blumhouse to bring this frighteningly visceral world to the big screen," James Wan said in his interview for Variety.

Dead by Daylight features settings and iconic villains from classic horror films like Resident Evil, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Silent Hill, Saw and many more.

This, and the fact that the movie is in the good hands of the masters of horror, also gives the fans hope for a highly entertaining and chilling adaptation of the game.
