DCEU Will Explore Multiverse in 'Batgirl', And It's a No From Fans

The directors behind MCU 's 'Ms. Marvel', Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah do not limit themselves with just one superhero universe. They are also in charge of the DCEU's upcoming show 'Batgirl', and while 'Ms. Marvel' steered clear from the multiversal endeavors, Warner Bros. series will fully delve into it, the directors confirmed to The Direct.

"I guess you're gonna have to see the other movies to understand what happens, why the reason is that we ended up in sort of a spaghetti of Multiverses in that aspect. It's gonna be a delicious spaghetti, I'm sure of that," El Arbi said.

First of all, yes, we just got the words "spaghetti" and "multiverse" in one sentence, which might trigger certain MCU fans who are still not over Reed Richards' less-than-enviable fate in 'Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness'.

Secondly, it seems that DC fans are no less triggered by Warner Bros. multiverse aspirations.

Few fans seemed to be overly enthusiastic about having to watch other DCEU movies to get into the multiversal "spaghetti".

"This is supposed to entice me to watch them all. It really just makes me want to skip them all." – @Doctor_Omega.

But some people argue that the director's words do not necessarily indicate the introduction of multiverse at all.

"It means it follows up on other DCEU movies since they're you know… in a shared universe of films." – @kingofnaboo.

Still, the overall path that Warner Bros. seems to have chosen for the DC universe does not click with many fans.

"Why can't they just have one world for now so fans can start to get invested in these heroes instead of one off movies in different universes that we won't see again?" – @Dafronz1.

'Batgirl' is set to release later in 2022, with the premiere date to be clarified later.
