The failed movie is suddenly getting a second chance after a miserable performance in theaters last year.

Over the years of its existence, Netflix has become a real beacon of hope for hundreds of movies that never made it to a successful theatrical run, with many of them getting an unprecedented attention from the streaming’s viewers as soon as they land on Netflix’s platform.

This week has marked yet another such case, as the streaming giant’s US top 10 suddenly welcomed the 2023 superhero film The Flash, which according to the recent data provided by FlixPatrol, is now getting closer to the very top of the chart, holding second place and only surpassed by Jessica Alba ’s brand new thriller Trigger Warning.

What Is The Flash About?

Coming as part of DC’s movie collection, The Flash stars Ezra Miller as Barry Allen, aka The Flash, a police forensic investigator from Central City whose superpower to move at incredible speed gained him a solid place in the Justice League.

Initially determined to study forensic science to prove his father’s innocence regarding his mother’s death, this time The Flash embarks on a bigger mission to come back in time to save his mother.

Things don’t go according to plan though as he’s now stuck in an altered reality where General Zod is back again and, ironically, there are no other superheroes to unite against the villain. To save the future, Barry now has to convince another retired Batman to help him while still trying to survive himself.

With all the hopes its creators had for The Flash, the movie eventually never succeeded to live up to them. Released back in 2023, the highly anticipated superhero flick turned out to be a total flop, grossing only $271 million against the initial budget of $220 million, thus causing major losses of around $200 million for the studio.

Still, the movie got some critical acclaim and landed relatively good scores of 63% and 83% from critics and the audience respectively on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Flash is available to stream on Netflix worldwide.
