The first days at new work are always hard.

Unfortunately for soap opera lovers, it's very hard to find the balance between too many characters and almost not enough. While having more people in the cast makes it much easier to mix and match the characters for more unexpected twists and drama, it also makes it harder for fans to follow their favorites' storylines.

On the other hand, if the number of characters is too small, the show will quickly become boring and repetitive. Many viewers thought this was the case with Days of Our Lives, but they were pleasantly surprised when the show announced not one, but two new additions to the cast at the same time.

Both Ashley Puzemis and Jamie Martin Mann have joined the iconic soap to take on the roles of little Holly Jonas and Tate Black, who are now teenagers. Although both actors are young, they have some experience with major productions, so there was no doubt that they would do the characters justice.

Still, it was impossible to completely avoid the stress that comes with the job. As Puzemis admitted in an interview with Soap Opera Digest, there was a moment when she felt overwhelmed by all the work and even intimidated by her new colleagues.

“We’ve filmed a lot within these short few months. It’s a lot of material, and some days we’re doing two or three episodes in one day. So that’s been a challenge, And, at first, I was a little intimidated that I was one of the new actresses, since everybody else has been on the show for years. But I’m comfortable with that now,” the young actress admits.

Luckily for Puzemis, Days of Our Lives has welcomed enough new cast members to know how to make the integration process as easy as possible for any newcomer. With a support system as good as it gets, we're sure Holly will hit the ground running. And we're looking forward to seeing her cause some drama in Salem.

Ashley Puzemis made her debut earlier this week, so if you missed her first appearance as Holly Jonas, be sure to catch up and tune in to all the new episodes on Peacock TV.
