From a teenage soap to the real deal.

Summary:

  • Days of Our Lives is one of the four major soap operas still running in the United States.
  • Since 2022, the show has moved to air exclusively on Peacock, but it's proving to still be active with new cast members.
  • The latest news is that 90210′s AnnaLynne McCord will be joining the daytime series.

For many decades, Days of Our Lives has held its place as one of America's most popular soap operas. Still, there are many fans who continue to follow the events of the daytime drama, even though NBC has done everything in its power to cut the series off from its audience.

The show's loyal fan base moved to the Peacock the same minute Days of Our Lives did. Though it was long considered a loss for the show, more than a year in a streaming format has proven that all is not lost.

In fact, the show has been renewed for two more seasons, ensuring that the drama will celebrate its 60th anniversary this year, and has continued to develop major storylines and occasionally welcome new members to the cast. The latest news suggests that the Days of Our Lives family will continue to grow, as AnnaLynne McCord is set to join the production.

Who Is Days of Our Lives’ Marin?

As reported by Deadline, McCord, previously known to viewers from The CW's 90210 reboot, will now enter Salem as a character named Marin. While not much is known about her character other than an emphasis on her attractiveness, viewers are already coming up with various guesses.

Of course, the most logical suggestion would be to think of her as a love interest for one of the existing characters, such as Chad or Alex. However, many fans are not so receptive to the idea of adding another character.

Some are concerned that the drama is already overcrowded with new characters, while others enjoyed the actress' performance on 90210 so much that they'd rather see her talent shine on a more established character with a strong storyline.

As of now, McCord is only signed to a one-year contract, but that could change in the future, depending on how audiences feel about the new character and the romance that will blossom around her.

As of now, there is no information on when the actress will make her first appearance as Marin, so the wisest decision would be to tune in to Peacock every day, Monday through Friday, to not miss another episode and Marin's first day in Salem.
